OUR CORE VALUES
WE BELIEVE: WE MUST LOVE FIRST
God tells us that there are two commandments that are above all others: to love Him and our neighbors. We believe the answer to almost every scenario is simply this: before you speak, move, or act – begin first with love. By choosing to operate in a “love first” mindset, we are able to respond to the world and those in our lives in truth and grace as scriptures call us to. We are committed to loving others and seek out opportunities to be a blessing wherever we are – in our workplaces, in our homes, in our communities, and in the world in which we live.
“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Cor 13:6-7
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.” John 13:34
WE BELIEVE: WE ARE MOVING FORWARD ALWAYS
Whatever we have done, wherever we have been, or whoever we were in the past – today is a fresh start. With God, we believe that we can walk forward today in the newness of His grace, love, and mercy. As believers, we believe our lives should show evident change, and that we should be constantly striving for continuous growth.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
WE BELIEVE: WE MUST PRAY WITH POSSIBILITY
We dream and pray for things only God could make happen. For the impossible to be made possible we need to fully trust in God by casting any doubts aside, no matter how reasonable they appear to be, showing recognition that we cannot do it alone, and appeal to Him for His help in prayer.
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
WE BELIEVE: WE MUST CULTIVATE A CULTURE OF HONOR
It’s all about Him, not about us. This is an idea that should sweep through every area of our ministries and lives. Honor is a lifestyle of embracing personal humility. We honor who God is when we recognize his ultimate goodness, His sovereignty, and we long to spend time with Him.
“Honor Christ and put others first.” Ephesians 5:21
“Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.” Romans 12:10
WE BELIEVE: WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER
Together is a word we should rally behind. When life is hard, when things don’t make sense – together is what we need. We are strengthened when we come together. Building community with each other aids us in our spiritual growth as we build each other up and spread the message of Jesus to the world.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
“Some people have gotten out of the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer.” Hebrews 10:25
WE BELIEVE: WE MUST SERVE EACH OTHER
Serving others is simply following the example of Jesus. Who better to follow than Him? While service alone does not equate a healthy spiritual self, serving is a tangible way to show what is already inside your heart: love. We serve God when we serve others.
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13
WE BELIEVE: WE CANNOT OUT GIVE GOD
God’s very nature is to give. From the creation of the universe, to sending his only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross for our eternal salvation, God gives because it is His character to do so. He gives out of His own nature. It is in that spirit that we freely give our love, finances, time, friendship and service.
“God is love, and anyone who doesn’t love others has never known him.” 1 John 4:8
“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure–pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.” Luke 6:38
WE BELIEVE: WE CAN LIVE LIFE
God has a plan and a purpose for your life that He imagined long before you were born. While everyone is alive, not everyone is truly “living.” Through spiritual growth, both personal and communal, we believe you can experience the life God intended for you – His best life – while you are here on Earth.
“A thief comes only to rob, kill, and destroy. I came so that everyone would have life, and have it in its fullest.” John10:10
“He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will…” Ephesians 1:5
